About Pride
We are a 501(c)(3) organization who serve as facilitators, partners and influencers for the sport of lacrosse in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Our journey began as a youth recreational lacrosse team for boys and girls ages 5 years to 15 years. Now, through our partnership with the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission we started the Prince George’s Youth Lacrosse League (PGYLL). The PGYLL gives the youth in Prince George’s County a place to compete in the sport of lacrosse closer to home.
To facilitate Prince George’s County and neighboring athletes in developing a strong foundation of sportsmanship, teamwork, collaboration, commitment and discipline while enjoying the great sport of lacrosse.
Our Mission
Our Philosophy
We believe in personal accountability, good sportsmanship and having fun. We play a competitive sport in competitive leagues. However, we stress safety in our teaching, and every game is supervised by adult accredited lacrosse referees. We love to win, but it isn’t our top priority. We ask each player to give their best effort for each game. We want our players to learn, compete and have fun. Every player on each team will play in every game, regardless of ability. The game itself is fast-paced and fun; substitutions are frequent. Novices will quickly learn the game if they remain focused and committed to learning and getting better.
Finally, we encourage parental participation. All practices and games are open, and we welcome parental involvement.
We welcome all donations and support, thank you in advance!
