League Rules

K-2nd Division:

Faceoff: Teams will faceoff at the beginning of each quarter. After goal, ball will be given to opposing team at midfield.

 

Offsides: Lenient off sides enforcement to begin season as players begin to understand the rule.

 

Time: Four 8 min. Quarters Stop Start last 2 min of game. 1 Timeout per half

 

Players: 7v7 (Goalie, 2 defensemen, 2 midfielders, 2 attackmen)

 

Field Size: 60 yards x 35 yards (cross field)

 

Equipment: Full equipment, NOCSAE lacrosse ball

 

Goal Size: 6x6 feet

 

Penalties: Time-serving penalties

 

Stick Checking: Stick to stick contact is permitted - (1) lift checks (2) poke checks (3) downward stick checks below both players’ shoulders. 2 hands on stick at all times for all checks.

 

Body Checking: Takeout checks* are not permitted, but equal contact is allowed.

 

* What Is a Takeout Check?

 

a. Anybody check in which the player lowers his head or shoulder with the force and intent to put the other player on the ground.

b. Anybody checks considered more aggressive or more physical than necessary to stop the advancement of the player carrying the ball or to keep or move a player away from a loose ball.

5th-6th & 7th-8th Division:

Faceoff after Goal: If a team has a five goal or more lead, the team that is losing will be given the ball after a goal and there will be no face-off. This will occur as long as one team has a five-goal lead.

 

Offsides: Enforced

 

Time: Four 8-minute quarters, start stop- 1 Timeout per half.  If a team has a five goal or more lead, the losing team will be given the ball after a goal and there will be no face-off. This will occur as long as one team has a five goal lead.

 

Players: 7v7 (Goalie, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders, 2 attackmen)

 

Field Size: 60 yards x 35 yards (cross field)

 

Equipment: Full equipment, NOCSAE lacrosse ball

 

Goal Size: 6 feet by 6 feet
