Pride Makes History in 2016!

Undefeated U11 Chesapeake Team Wins SMLYA and MD State Youth Lacrosse Championships

Updated Saturday November 19, 2016 by Bruce Lancaster.

The Spring 2016 season was history making for PG Pride. Our U11 Chesapeake Team went undefeated, had the most potent offense, and the most stingy defense in the league. They were often complimented on sportmanship, hard play, and work ethic. As U11 SMYLA Champions they were chosen to represent SLMYA in the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Tournament.  Pride was the 1st team SMYLA has ever sent to the State Tournament at any age group, so we truly represented Prince Georges County and our region of the state. Facing a tough Kent Island team in the Semi Finals, Pride prevailed in a 9-8 Sudden Death OT victory, propelling them to the Championship vs Urbana the next evening. Pride started fast in the Championship game and never looked back winning 11-2.  Congrats to the Pride U11, our MD Youth Lacrosse Tournament Champions for 2016!
